I AM A SECURITY PROFESSIONAL – my review Door Bird vs Ring vs Optex IVision: I like the Door Bird unit best and will use it, but my review has important details about installing it and limitations. My comments on Ring are based on a June of 2016 length tech review. The Door Bird has a camera with wide view lens which is naturally a bit distorting – but you need that to see the person and what they are holding (can’t see packages left at doorstep – yet faces are more important). The prime view sweet spot "face evidence" is head on 2 – 3 feet feet away and even off to the side a bit. Door Bird image is better than Ring because the light level balance is far superior according to my Ring product technical review last June 2016. What this means is that Ring shuts down the digital iris if the sunlight is too bright in the background – so the face of the person is so dark its "questionable face – poor evidence", which as a security professional is a big fat negative for…
